Carriage House Nursery School is located in a quaint ocean town on the South Shore. It is a warm and welcoming early childhood center rooted in nature-based and play-based learning philosophies. We believe children thrive best through hands-on exploration, open-ended play, and meaningful connections with the natural world. Our toddler program encourages curiosity, confidence, and a love of learning from the very beginning.
Position Overview:
We are looking for an enthusiastic and nurturing Toddler Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about working with young children in outdoor settings and comfortable supporting child-led learning experiences. You will help guide toddlers through daily explorations, imaginative play, and nature-inspired activities that foster developmental growth and joyful discovery.
Responsibilities:
Plan and lead play-based, developmentally appropriate learning experiences
Engage toddlers in outdoor exploration and nature play regardless of the weather
Support social-emotional development through respectful, responsive caregiving
Observe and document children’s growth and learning
Create a safe, inclusive, and engaging indoor and outdoor classroom environment
Communicate regularly with families and collaborate with teaching team
Qualifications:
EEC certified Toddler Teacher; degree in Early Childhood Education preferred
Experience working with toddlers (ages 1–3), preferably in a nature-based or play-based setting
Passion for outdoor learning and a willingness to be outside in all seasons
CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain
Strong communication skills and a collaborative spirit
