Our Commitment to Children:

To Provide:

  • support for families through strong school partnerships;

  • a child-centered education;

  • attention to the health, safety, and responsive care of all children;

  • active, individualized, developmentally appropriate learning;

  • a culture of respect for one another and for all people and the world in which we live; and

  • a culture of respect and awe for the natural environment, of which we are a small part.

Our History

The Carriage House Nursery School is owned by First Parish Unitarian Universalist Church of Cohasset, MA.  It was established in 1978 as a small one-room schoolhouse for preschool-age children. Over time it has evolved into a 5-room school that now offers a wide range of programs for children between the ages of 2 and 5 years old.

Our Campus

Located across from the historic Cohasset common, Carriage House Nursery School’s campus includes beautiful indoor and outdoor environments that are thoughtfully designed to facilitate learning and exploration.

Our Director, Lynne Miner

I am honored to serve as the director of Carriage House Nursery School.  With a natural passion for early childhood education, I am dedicated to providing a nurturing and enriching environment where young minds can reach their full potential.  Through engaging and developmentally appropriate activities, I strive to spark curiosity, instill a love for learning, and foster social and emotional growth in each and every child.   I am committed to working closely with families, creating a supportive community, and ensuring that every child feels valued and celebrated.  Together, let’s embark on a journey of discovery and joyful learning.

I enjoy spending time with my husband, our grown children, and our grandchildren.  Ocean walks, swimming, traveling, photography, and painting are a few of my joys.

Non-Discrimination Policy

The Carriage House Nursery School shall not discriminate against any child, staff, or parent on the basis of race, religion, cultural heritage, political belief, marital status, disability, sexual orientation or national origin.
